Meet Dr. Geeta Bhat
Upon graduation from New York University College of Dentistry in 2000 she entered a General Practice Residency Program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. During her residency she had the opportunity to enhance and refine her skills in all areas of adult dentistry for the medically compromised individual. She was awarded a certificate of completion in 2001.
Immediately following the completion of her first residency, she was chosen to be the Chief Dental Resident in the second year General Practice Residency Program at York Hospital in York Pennsylvania. During her year at York Hospital Dr. Bhat had the opportunity to work with adults as well as children in all phases of dentistry. She became particularly interested in the treatment of children and had the privilege as Chief Resident to expand her clinical skills beyond the office setting into the operating room by treating children under general anesthesia. Upon completion, Dr. Bhat considered a faculty position at York Hospital, but decided to move to sunny North Carolina. Although Dr. Bhat is a general dentist, in 2005, she decided that she wanted to open a children’s dental practice because she loves working with kids and can’t imagine doing anything else. She has owned and operated Geeta Bhat, DDS PA for the past 15 years and counting providing a great dental experience to children.
Geeta lives in Holly Springs area with her 3 children. She is an animal lovers and boasts a house full of furry pets. She has a papipoo, Sir Renly, and a tabbly cat Mosley Rose, a Maine Coone mix named Fozzie Bear and a cat they named Mr. Tumnus who was rescued from a hoarding situation which left him deaf. The incredible medical team at the SPCA of wake country removed both ear drums to save Mr. Tumnus and Dr. Bhat adopted him when she was serving on the board of Directors for the SPCA. In her spare time Geeta trains in Brazilian Jiujitsu, plays chess, and dances. She is a 3 time Masters World Champion in Jiujitsu was promoted to purple belt this past year. She travels all over the world attending jiujitsu camps, seminars and competitions. She has been training in Jiujitsu for the past 9 years and is committed to receiving her black belt one day. She also loves to dance and favors Country Western dancing and West Coast Swing, Lastly, she plays chess weekly and takes bike trips frequently traveling both domestically and internationally. She is always on the go between work, family and her hobbies.
Meet Dr. Stephen Wilst
Dr. Stephen Wiist was born in Michigan and grew up on Long Island, NY. He attended college at Amherst where he graduated with a B.A. in Biology in 1995. He then entered dental school at the Ohio State University where he graduated with a degree of D.D.S in 2000.
After dental school, Dr. Wiist completed a residency program at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA where he met and worked with Dr. Geeta Bhat. They have been good friends for over a decade. Upon completion of his residency program, Dr. Wiist moved to Minnesota and later to South Dakota. For over six years he provided dental services to the Native American population through the Indian Health Services program.
When Dr. Bhat’s growing practice was in need of an associate dentist, Dr. Wiist was the natural choice. Dr. Wiist brings to our office a wonderful sense of humor as well as a gentle manner that children and parents can appreciate.
Dr. Wiist is an avid traveler. His goal is to see ever part of the world. He has traveled to all 50 states and makes international trips each year to keep checking countries off his list. He also enjoys movies and outdoor activities. He has an extensive knowledge of state parks and loves to camp and hike.
Dr. Wiist made the move from South Dakota to North Carolina in 2008 to join his friend, Geeta and she was thrilled to have him on our team.
Meet Dr. Jenny Tu
Meet Dr. Harpreet Wasson
Following dental school, Dr. Wasson moved to Tucson, Arizona to work with the Indian Health Services program providing all aspects of dental care to children and adults in the Native American community for six years.
Dr. Wasson served as Executive Committee Member of the National Oral Health Council from 2010-2012. During this appointment she also conducted clinical research for the Early Childhood Caries Initiative at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She served as faculty at the Lutheran Medical Department of Dental Medicine AEGD residency program from 2011-2013.
Dr. Wasson truly enjoys taking care of children and giving her patients the best dental care possible. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, dining, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
ABOUT OUR STAFF
Angela has worked at our practice since 2014. She was born in the Dominican Republic, enjoys cooking Caribbean food, and listening to music. She is the proud mother of three beautiful children and loves spending time with them. She is fluent in Spanish and likes assisting our Spanish speaking patients. Angela took a year and a half off for maternity leave and is now back with our office. We are so happy to have her back!
Front Desk Coordinator
Genesis was born in Salem, MA but she moved to Raleigh NC at a very young age. Genesis has lived in Raleigh NC basically her life. Genesis still frequently visits Massachusetts whenever she can. Genesis recently discovered the joy of traveling when she visited Mexico in 2019, and has plans to visit many more countries. Genesis has a black and white standard poodle named Oreo who she loves to play with and go on walks with. Fun facts Genesis poodle is as tall as she is when he stands on his two back feet. Genesis is extremely family oriented and during her free time she enjoys getting together with them.
Certified Dental Assistant
Uniqua was born in Fayetteville, NC and relocated to Raleigh a couple of years ago to play soccer for school. She enjoys hanging out with her sister, meeting new people, traveling, and online shopping. Uniqua has always wanted to work in the dental field, since high school. She loves being a pediatric dental assistant.

Leticia was born and raised in Raleigh, NC . Growing up she enjoyed her visits at the dentist so much , she knew she wanted to work in the dentistry field. She went to college to become a Dental assistant ll and she is a first generation college graduate ! She is a proud mother to her son Chuyito and he is her biggest motivation in life. She enjoys working with kids and is always happy to assist our Spanish speaking patients.
DENTAL ASSISTANT II
A native of Cincinnati, moved to Cary 01/01/99 from Syracuse, NY (yes, she moved on New Year?s Day). Jeannette joined Geeta Bhat, D.D.S after serving as a dental assistant with the UNC Chapel Hill Dental School pediatric dentistry program for eight years. Having a dentist for a father, the dental field is second nature to her. Jeannette worked for her father while still in high school and later with other Cincinnati area dental practices. Jeannette has been on our team for almost five years. Jeannette is Dr. Bhat operating room assistant. Most patient?s never get to meet Jeannette because her work is behind the scenes making sure the operating room cases run smoothly. Her skills in the operating room are unmatched. Jeannette enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her interest in collector dolls has grown into a serious pastime. We?re so glad that she wants to stay with us as much as we want her. The practice wouldn?t be the same without her. She has now been with the practice for 10 years!
